Cead Mile Failte

One hundred thousand welcomes to you and yours to my official blog of all things Irish from me, Diane Byrnes, host of the Echoes of Erin Radio Show on WEDO RADIO - 810AM every Sunday for one hour from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.. Our broadcast is LIVE from White Oak, Pennsylvania which is about 16 miles southeast of Pittsburgh.

The mission of my Echoes of Erin blog is to complement my Web site and Irish radio show - now in its 18th year - and to provide a more current, open and free-flowing forum of all things Irish in Pittsburgh, its surrounding areas and important news and views from Ireland.

Tune into Echoes of Erin every Sunday at 1:00 p.m. for exclusive Irish news, information and entertainment features such as: The Ireland Report - Current events direct from Ireland with news correspondents: Patricia Sharkey of Donegal; Ann Bray of Dublin; Davy Kettyles, of Enniskillen; and Mairtin O’Muilleoir of Belfast. Dateline Irish - A calendar of Irish events in Pittsburgh and its surrounding areas. Exciting and Informative Interviews with local, national, and international personalities such as Pennsylvania Congressman, Tim Murphy, Michael Cummings, AOH National Archiver & IAUC; Malachy McAllister, Ciaran Ferry, Fr. Aidan Troy from Holy Cross Church, Belfast, Alex Maskey former Sinn Fein Mayor of Belfast, Gerry Adams, President of Sinn Fein; other interviews with Authors, Entertainers, Heads of Organizations. Traditional, Contemporary, Celtic Rock and all other genres of Irish Music from groups and artists such as Mary Black, Frances Black, Lúnasa, Téada, Cherish The Ladies, Liz Carroll & John Doyle, Eamon Friel, Joe Giltrap, The Irish Tenors, Christy Moore, Briege Murphy, Niamh Parsons, Frank Patterson, Paddy Reilly, Tommy Sands, Black 47, Dropkick Murphys, Derek Warfield, The Wolfe Tones, plus many more.

You're most welcome and encouraged to post your comments and thoughts as we stroll along on our Irish adventure together. Again, my/our blog's mission is to serve as an open and free venue of Irish conversation. Posts will occur at least once a week, but as you know the Irish are never at a loss for words, so expect to see more than one post per week!

Enjoy!
