· Free concert at Hillman Center for Performing Arts with four world and US champions of piping and drumming at 8pm. The Hillman Center for Performing Arts is on the campus of Shady Side Academy in Fox Chapel. The 90-minute performance features 11-time world champion piper Alasdair Gillies (voted by the readers of Piper & Drummer magazine as the 20th century's greatest piper), world champion piper Brian Donaldson, US champion piper George Balderose, and US champion drummer Gordon Bell.
· The four performers are at Shady Side Academy June 28 to July 3 as instructors for Scottish piping and drumming classes administered by the Balmoral School of Piping & Drumming. Since 1978, Balmoral School has held week-long Scottish piping and drumming classes every summer on college campuses throughout the US. This is Balmoral School's first year at Shady Side Academy.
