The Irish Lobby for Immigration Reform, ILIR, will sponsor a ‘Lobby Day’ in Washington, DC. The Senate has recently passed their version of an immigration bill, and now it will be entering the House of Representatives. The version already created by the House is much more conservative than the Senate’s bill and provides no path to legal status. Senator John McCain said the ILIR helped changed the minds of five senators, and that is because of the voices heard in Washington on March 8th. If anyone is interested in going to Washington, please let me know and I’ll forward the information. Email: diane.byrnes@verizon.net
