• The public is invited to Carlow University for a lecture and discussion by noted Irish economist, Paul Hederman, at 7:00 PM in Anthony J. Palumbo Hall at the corner of Fifth and Craft on the Carlow campus in Oakland. The title of the presentation is Global Perspectives and Social Responsibility: The State of the Irish Economy. Mr. Hederman was formerly responsible for facilitating and enhancing the collaboration of four Institutes of Technology under a government funded initiative known as the Strategic Innovation Fund. He has taught economics and economic and social policy courses at the National College of Ireland. Paul has also worked for the National Institute for Transport, the Irish Fisheries Board, and the Irish Trade Board. He has a special interest in Ireland’s Tiger Economy and the social implications of the relative recent and rapid success which Ireland has enjoyed. Introductory comments will be made by Bill Flanagan, Executive VP, Allegheny Conference on Community Development & host of Our Region's Business. An informal tea will follow.
