Gaelscoil an Lonnain

I'm on a writing frenzy now!! The Mural you see here was created by students from Gaelscoil an Lonnain in Belfast. Gaelscoil an Lonnain provides an Irish-Medium education for Pre-School, Primary and Post-Primary ages. This Mural was the 'Grand Prize' in the fundraising efforts in 2006.

I happened to have been the grand prize winner and because of lack of wall space in my home, this Mural was donated to The Irish Centre of Pittsburgh where it hangs very proudly on one of the new walls.

The children painted characters in Irish mythodology and did a beautiful job.


We had 'The Year of Remembrance Committee (TYORC)' meeting last week where I took a couple of photos. Here we have Sarah McAliffe-Bellin with the IAUC, Terry Callahan with the AOH and Chairman of the AOH Allegheny County Hunger Project, Jim Green AOH Pennsylvania State President, myself with Echoes of Erin, Mary Mannion with the IAUC and Greg Garrison with the Knights of Equity.

For the past few years Sarah McAuliffe-Bellin has brought the Gaelscoil an Lonnain fundraising efforts to Pittsburgh. Again in 2007 Sarah is exposing our Pittsburgh citizens on the benefits of an Irish-Medium education. Tickets for the fundraising are only $3.00 each.
