• AOH Allegheny County Board and AOH Division 9 sponsor the 2013 St. Patrick’s Day Mass and Communion Breakfast. Mass will be celebrated at the Double Tree Hotel in Greentree, 500 Mansfield Avenue at 10am. The celebrant is Bishop David A. Zubik. The Communion Breakfast and short program will follow. • The Gaelic Arts Society of Pittsburgh will host their Annual St. Patrick’s Day Banquet with an Irish Buffet from Noon to 2pm at PAA in Oakland. • Fleadh Rua in the Village of Forkhill in South Armagh. The festival is based on traditional Irish music and a ‘celebration of the beauty of the red-head gene’, people everywhere are invited, especially Red-heads. South Armagh is an "Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty". The festival weekend will also include historical tours, walks, local art exhibitions, craft and food stalls, and some of Ireland's finest musicians in concert, culminating in a big traditional ceili, in the local community centre, on Saturday night. The festival is being sponsored by "The Peadar O' Doirnin Folk Society” and chaired by Singer, Songwriter, Musician, Briege Murphy.

Echoes of Erin is embarking on another Fundraising Campaign with a Hand Carved Violin, made by Peter Shovlin, Sr., originally from Adara, County Donegal. Mr. Shovlin has been a carpenter by trade and a musician on the fiddle for many, many years. He has donated this fiddle to benefit Echoes of Erin. This beautiful Violin is:

Hand Carved Violin, Stradivarius Model, Flame back and sides with European Spruce Top, all tone woods, Trimmed with ebony peg and finger board, Tailpiece with four fine tuners

Guarnerius boxwood chin rest, Hand Varnished and Polished, With Nice Clear Tones

This hand carved violin is a treasure, it is a piece of art, and it is a well toned musical instrument. Whether you play a violin / fiddle or not, it will become a treasured piece of art, something you can play or display in your home.
