A Day of Irish Entertainment

Saturday, June 13th, a fun 'Day of Irish Entertainment' will take place at The Croatian Center. also known as Schitizen Park, beginning at Noon. The AOH St. Patrick Division 4 and the LAOH St. Bridget Division 4 in the North Hills of Pittsburgh sponsors this event. It truly is a fun-filled family-day outing.

Here are some pictures from the venue taken last year.

This photo show lots of green; there are many picnic tables and swings for the kids. This venue provides a lovely atmoshpere; it is a general all 'round, nice outdoor venue and under cover in case it rains.

Here is the pavillion under cover. It also has a great dance floor!!

The Ladies in the kitchen, they do a marvelous job for the crowd; the O'Brien Three -- Lynn, Jeannie and Marie.

Here we have Steve Kurpiewski, President of AOH Division 4. He was as happy as a lark!!

Another lovely scene at the Gazebo!!

The entertainment during the day includes our own Ballad singer, Mike Gallagher on 12-string guitar. Mike is also a member of Division 4.
Coming in from Hazelton, Pa. are The Irish Lads singing some fine Irish ballads, sea shanty's, playing some tunes, and sprinkled with several dashes of humor. It has been a long time since The Irish Lads performed in Pittsburgh.
There will be a juggler for the kids and plenty of space for them to spread their wings and have some good 'old fashioned' fun.
The Ladies will have prepared a variety of dishes for your sustenance and some libation will flow as well. The Ladies will also have assembled some lovely Raffle Baskets with some unique items.
The gate opens at Noon and will continue until 8:00pm. Come one, come all for a very enjoyable day at The Croatian Center, on Schitizen Park Road, off Babcock Blvd. in Ross Township.

New Beginning

Echoes of Erin has a 'new beginning'. As of Sunday, 7 June 2009, the program has expanded to a 90 minute broadcast from 12:30pm to 2:00pm EST. If you cannot listen when it is being broadcast, you do have the option to download and listen from the early evening.

Go to www.wedo810.com, click on Program Guide, scroll down the page to Echoes of Erin, click on and download any of the programs. Today's program was # 1107.

Now in its 21st year, this is a good time for the additional time as I have accumulated an extensive music library along with other supporting material.

This will be an adventure and I'm sure, another interesting journey. The additional time will provide an opportunity to feature more themed programs and specific genres, in a 'block of time'.

No matter where you are in the world, as long as you have internet access you can listen!
